Sharman thanks Saints
South African hooker Brett Sharman says that he enjoyed his time with Aviva Premiership side Northampton Saints.

Brett Sharman has praised Northampton Saints following his release from the club.

It was this afternnon confirmed that the Aviva Premiership side would be parting company with the South African hooker due to a knee injury.

That news came despite the fact that Sharman was recently the subject of club disciplinary procedures after allegedly tweeting a racist comment regarding double Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah.

The 25-year-old said that he enjoyed his time with the Saints and he wished them every success in the future.

"I've enjoyed my time at the Saints," Sharman told the club's website. "It is a great club with good people and I am sure that there will be major success coming to Franklin's Gardens sooner rather than later.

"The players, management and supporters all deserve that and I wish them every success."

Sharman made his Northampton debut in 2009.
