Brent Wilson signs new deal with Nottingham Rugby

Northampton Rugby captain Brent Wilson has agreed a new two-year contract extension with the club.

The 33-year-old, who took over the role of captain this season, moved to the RFU Championship club in November 2011, but will now remain until at least the completion of the 2014-15 season.

Nottingham head coach Martin Haag told Sky Sports News: "I'm delighted that Brent has agreed to stay with us at Meadow Lane, he has done an outstanding job as both a player and a leader for us this season.

"In terms of describing Brent as a player and asset, he fits the sort of player that we want here at Meadow Lane - he has an overwhelming desire to win, is incredibly self motivated, leads by example, is the consummate professional in the way he prepares himself physically, and is a constant performer under pressure."

Wilson has also played for Newcastle.
