Biarritz prop Eduard Coetzee has confirmed that he is retiring from rugby union after seeking the advice of doctors.
Medical experts have told the 32-year-old that he must end his playing career following three concussions this seasons.
"For me it is over as far as rugby is concerned," he said. "I consulted three different neurologists, including two who work with the National Rugby League, and those last two formally forbade me to play rugby at the highest level."
The South African made over 100 appearances for Biarritz after joining the club in 2007.
