Belgian side Royal Kituro claim record 356-3 victory

Belgian team Royal Kituro beats Soignies in the country's top division 356-3.

A Belgian team has won a game in the country's top division 356-3.

Royal Kituro ran in 56 tries and 38 conversions to Soignies's solitary drop goal, which equates to more than four points per minute on average.

The problems began for Soignies when the referee turned up late. The away team's coach and most of the players left after assuming that the game was off.

However, the referee did eventually appear more than an hour after the scheduled kickoff and the game went ahead, but Soignies only had 16 players available.

The away team were effectively forced to play and gain the 'loser's point', rather than forfeit the match.

Despite Royal Kituro's record-breaking victory, Soignies still sit above their opponents in the league by one point, but with a points difference of minus 264.
