Result: Newcastle Falcons 15-10 London Wasps

Five penalties from Jimmy Gopperth secured the victory for Newcastle Falcons over London Wasps at Kingston Park this afternoon.

Hosts Newcastle failed to run in a try, but the kicking intervention of 28-year-old Gopperth meant Wasps' ten points were in vein.

Gopperth converted three penalties before the break to cancel out a try from the visitors Christian Wade.

Ryan Davis, who converted Wade's earlier try, momentarily reduced the arrears after the break with a penalty kick.

However, New Zealand-born Gopperth added further kicks in the 46th and 68th minute to seal the win for the Falcons.
