Newcastle Falcons 3-9 Saracens

Saracens book their place in the Aviva Premiership playoffs after a narrow 9-3 win at struggling Newcastle Falcons.

Saracens have booked their place in the Aviva Premiership playoffs after a narrow 9-3 win at struggling Newcastle Falcons.

The visitors went in 3-0 ahead at the break thanks to Owen Farrell's penalty.

The England international was on target again four minutes into the second half to double his side's lead.

Jimmy Gopperth kicked over in the 53rd minute to give the relegation-threatened club some hope, but Farrell kicked over again after the hour to give his side some breathing space.
