Munster captain Peter O'Mahony out of season with shoulder injury

O'Mahony to miss rest of season

Munster have announced that captain Peter O'Mahony will be out of action for the rest of the season after picking up a shoulder injury during last weekend's Heineken Cup quarter-final.

The 24-year-old will undergo surgery after he suffered the problem during Munster's 47-23 victory over Toulouse.

A statement on the club's official website said: "O'Mahony travelled to Dublin late yesterday evening for a review with the specialist, and following the consultation it was confirmed that the Munster captain required surgery on his left shoulder."

O'Mahony was part of Ireland's Six Nations-winning campaign.
