Lyn Jones says that Gavin Henson performed well on his first start for London Welsh.

London Welsh head coach Lyn Jones has praised Gavin Henson after his first start for his side.

The former Wales international scored three penalties and two conversions in his side's 28-23 defeat to Saracens on Sunday.

Despite the game ending in defeat, Jones was full of praise for the 30-year-old after the match.

"I thought for his first game back in God knows how long, his performance was very good. He was hugely influential," said Jones.

"To play as badly as we did and come away with a losing bonus point is a plus.

"Saracens are a quality side and they played very well today."

The Exiles host Stade Francais in the Amlin Challenge Cup on Saturday.
