Bath scored more tries than Wasps this afternoon but still fell to a 29-22 Aviva Premiership defeat at Adams Park.
During a first half which was largely dominated by Wasps, the hosts took a 12-0 lead into the break thanks to four penalties - three from Andy Goode and a 50m effort from Elliot Daly.
Goode extended his side's lead even further shortly after the restart with another three points, before he converted a penalty try after Christian Wade had been tackled by Micky Young, who ended up the sin bin for his actions.
Sailosi Tagicakibau then ran in his first try in Wasps colours in the 49th minute, and Goode converted to put the home team 29-0 in front.
Visiting Bath rallied and reduced the deficit almost immediately when Jonathan Joseph crossed the line, although the subsequent conversion from Young struck the post.
Then, converted tries in quick succession from Young and flanker Dave Sisi, who was making just his second Aviva Premiership appearance, brought Bath to within 10 points of Wasps with 10 minutes left to play.
George Ford made it 22 unanswered second-half points from Bath when he sent a penalty between the posts with five minutes remaining, but Wasps held out in the closing stages to win by a seven-point margin.
