London Wasps go fourth with win over Bath

Wasps go fourth with win

London Wasps have moved into the top four in the Aviva Premiership with a win over Bath this afternoon.

The hosts took a narrow lead at half time following a closely-fought first 40 minutes.

Nick Abendanon and Michael Claassens scored tries for Bath, while Christian Wade crossed the whitewash for Wasps.

Each side saw a player sin-binned in a physical opening half, Tom Varndell for Wasps and Dominic Day for Bath.

A cagey second half saw few chances for either side, until Chris Bell made a break to score the home side's second try.

An infringement during the move also saw Abendanon yellow-carded, leaving Bath a player short for the remainder of the game.

The win moves Wasps above Northampton Saints into fourth, while Bath sit eighth.
