Last-gasp penalty seals Saints win

A last-minute penalty from Stephen Myler sealed a 17-15 win for Northampton Saints in their Aviva Premiership match against London Wasps this afternoon.

Chris Day helped the visitors edge ahead in the first half with an 11th-minute try, but a series of Andy Goode penalties kept Wasps in contention.

Joe Carlisle put the hosts a point ahead late on with another kick, but the lead was short-lived, as Myler booted the ball through the uprights as time expired.

The visitors finished the match with 14 men as Tom Wood was sin-binned for an off the ball tackle on Joe Launchbury.

The result leaves Northampton three points behind league leaders Saracens.
