14-man London Irish hold on against London Wasps

London Irish clinch a 23-20 win over London Wasps despite playing most of the second half with 14 men.

London Irish have held on for a 23-20 win over London Wasps in the Aviva Premiership, despite playing most of the second half down to 14 men.

The Exiles made a strong start to the match, with Ian Humphreys and David Paice both finding the try line early on.

However, James Short scored his first try for the home side following a quick break from Elliott Daly, to keep Wasps in contention at half time.

Wasps' chance of a comeback was boosted early in the second half when Tomas O'Leary was sent off for stamping on James Haskell's head.

Joe Carlisle briefly got the hosts back on level terms, but James O'Connor added his second penalty of the game to restore the visitors' advantage.
