LV= Cup roundup: Wins for Saracens, Scarlets, Bath

Sports Mole rounds up all the action from Friday evening's games in the LV= Cup.

Saracens got their LV= Cup campaign off to a good start with a narrow win over London Wasps this evening.

The visitors added four tries to take control of the match, before a try inside the last 20 minutes from Neil Cochrane gave the hosts hope.

Ben Jacobs reduced the visitors' lead further, but Wasps came up just short, as Tom Howe was pushed into touch looking for the try line inside the last minute of the game.

After a close first half, Scarlets took control with a couple of tries early in the second half to secure a win over Welsh rivals Newport Gwent Dragons.

Chris Knight and Rob McKusker both crossed the whitewash while Scott Matthews was in the sin bin for the Dragons.

Kris Burton scored the only try of the match for the visitors as Newport tried to get back into the tie late on, but they were unable to overturn their opponents' lead.

Bath Rugby needed a last-gasp try to edge to victory over Sale Sharks, after the home side fought back from a 10-point deficit.

The sides were level at 10-10 at the break, but Bath seemed to have the better of their opponents in the second half, quickly doubling their score.

Mike Haley got Sharks back on level terms late on, but David Attwood burst over the line with the final play of the game to secure an away win.

Worcester Warriors survived a second-half comeback from Cardiff Blues to clinch victory this evening.

A series of first-half tries gave Worcester a comfortable lead at the end of the first half, before a Thomas Young effort brought the home side back in contention, but the visitors defended hard to protect their advantage late on.

Leicester Tigers secured a comfortable win over Ospreys to get their campaign off to a winning start.
