London Irish 'call press conference to confirm takeover'

London Irish will reportedly hold a press conference tomorrow to announce that the club has been taken over by an Irish consortium.

London Irish have called a press conference for Thursday where they are expected to confirm that the club has secured a takeover.

The Aviva Premiership outfit are said to have been bought buy a group of Irish businessman, with Mick Crossan leading the consortium.

According to BBC Sport, director of rugby Brian Smith will be joined by one of three businessmen at a news conference at Sunbury tomorrow.

The new owners are expected to make a decision regarding the stadium, with some suggesting that the club could leave the Madejski in Reading.
