James Buckland extends London Irish deal

James Buckland has signed a new two-year deal to remain with Aviva Premiership side London Irish.

The club's coach Toby Booth has admitted that he was keen for the 31-year-old hooker to extend his stay with the club because of the commitment that he shows on the pitch.

"James has a fantastic set piece game which is vital in the Premiership," Booth said.

"You need a solid platform to play off up front if you are to be successful. He is a highly committed performer for London Irish whenever he takes the field."

Buckland joined Irish from Wasps in 2008.
