Gloucester Rugby 29-21 Harlequins

Harlequins have suffered a shock defeat at the top of the Aviva Premiership table after they went down 29-21 to Gloucester at Kingsholm Stadium.

Freddie Burns kicked an early penalty for the hosts before Charlie Sharples's try soon after increased their lead. Burns kicked the extras to make the score 10-0.

Two penalties from Nick Evans got Quins back into the match, but Jonny May's try on 25 minutes edged Gloucester further ahead.

Burns then kicked over another penalty, while Ross Chisholm's try kept the visitors in the tie.

However, two more penalties from Burns saw the home side go in 23-13 to the good at the break.

An Evans penalty five minute after the restart breathed some life into his side's chances, but Burns's fourth kick of the evening restored Gloucester's eight-point advantage.

They increased their lead once more just before the hour when Akapusi Qera touched down for his side's third try of the evening.

Chisholm went over for his second try of the game in the 79th minute, but it was only a consolation for Quins.
