Nigel Davies rues 'humiliating' Gloucester Rugby loss

Gloucester Rugby director of rugby Nigel Davies admits that his team's 22-16 defeat to Sale Sharks in the Aviva Premiership was 'humiliating'.

Gloucester Rugby director of rugby Nigel Davies has admitted that his side's defeat to Sale Sharks in their opening game of the Aviva Premiership season was 'humiliating'.

A close contest between the teams at Kingsholm Stadium on Saturday saw the visitors come out 22-16 winners.

"We've got to lick our wounds a little bit," Davies told the league's official website. "And we are wounded - we're humiliated.

"But that's the nature of the sport. It's the last thing we wanted at home, but we've got to deal with it head-on now."

Gloucester have the chance to return to winning ways next Sunday when they travel to Saracens.
