Exeter made a thrilling comeback to beat Sale Sharks 30-23 at Edgeley Park this evening.
In a blistering opening half for the Sharks, two early penalties from Nick Macleod and tries from Henry Thomas and Sam Tuitupou gave the hosts a 20-0 lead.
A try from Richard Baxter cut the deficit, but another Macleod penalty made the score 23-7 at the break.
A penalty from Richard Steenson along with another kick by his replacement Ignacio Mieres edged Exeter back into the match.
The visitors were then awarded a penalty try, which Mieres converted to make the score 23-20.
The Argentine levelled the match with a penalty score before his dramatic late try, which he converted, snatched the win for Exeter.
