Second-half comeback sees Exeter Chiefs triumph at London Irish

Late comeback sees Exeter win at London Irish

A 73rd-minute try from Ben White capped a dramatic comeback as Exeter Chiefs recorded a 29-23 win at London Irish in the Aviva Premiership.

Irish were 23-12 in front with 25 minutes remaining at the Madejski Stadium, thanks to converted tries from Nic Rouse and Marland Yarde, plus nine penalty points from the boot of Ian Humphreys.

However, Gareth Steenson's fifth successful penalty goal of the day dragged Exeter back into contention, before Dean Mumm powered over and Steenson added the extras to close the gap to just one.

White then crashed home under the posts, presenting Steenson with a simple conversation, which he made with minimal fuss.
