Exeter Chiefs thrash Connacht

Exeter Chiefs score five tries to cruise to a 33-13 win over Connacht in the European Rugby Challenge Cup.

Exeter Chiefs have cruised to a 33-13 win over Connacht in the European Rugby Challenge Cup this afternoon.

The home side dominated the first half, with Will Chudley, Henry Slade and Damian Welch all crossing the try line in the opening 40 minutes.

Craig Ronaldson added a couple of penalties before the break for Connacht, leaving the visitors 13 points behind at half time.

The Chiefs showed no signs of slowing in the second half, when Dave Ewers and Ben White increased the advantage within 15 minutes of the restart.

The hosts sent on some of their younger players for the final 20 minutes, allowing Fionn Carr to add a late try for the visitors.
