Exeter Chiefs complete Elvis Taione signing

Exeter Chiefs have completed the signing of Tongan international hooker Elvis Taione from Championship side Jersey.

The length of the 30-year-old's contract at Sandy Park has not been confirmed.

Taione, who joined Jersey last summer, has won seven caps for Tonga since he made his debut back in 2012.

"I'm really pleased with the signing, I think he'll really add to the competition in a position in which we're very strong, and he'll be a vital member of the squad that's got a big job next year," Exeter coach Rob Baxter told the club's official website.

"A good, proven Championship player can step up and get up to speed pretty quickly with a good pre-season and with good guys around him."

The Chiefs play their final game of the Aviva Premiership season on Saturday when they make the trip to Newcastle Falcons.
