Rob Baxter "pleased" with Exeter Chiefs' pre-season

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter says he is "really pleased" with the club's pre-season.

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has said he is so far "really pleased" with the club's pre-season preparations.

Former Chiefs captain Baxter told the club's website: "We feel we are a long way down the road we want to be, obviously the boys coming back in very good physical condition has helped massively.

"It has meant we have pushed on with rugby from day one and we have managed to keep pushing on like that with every training session.

"I'm really pleased as it has meant we have got a lot of rugby work done, as well as all the hard work in what has been a very tough conditioning programme."

The Sandy Park side begin next season's Aviva Premiership against Leicester Tigers on September 3.
