Gibson thrilled by Chiefs display
Rob Gibson says that Exeter Chiefs were made to work for a "very good" victory over London Welsh in the LV= Cup.

Exeter Chiefs coach Rob Gibson has revealed his delight after his side's win in the LV= Cup on Sunday.

The Devon outfit ran in six tries as they thrashed fellow Aviva Premiership side London Welsh 42-15 at the Kassam Stadium.

Despite their commanding score, Gibson believes that Chiefs were made to work for their victory.

"It was a very, very good victory, but one the boys had to earn. It wasn't given to them," said Gibson.

"It was a close score at half-time, but they dug deep, and the young players showed a bit of flair, and the older players showed some really good leadership qualities.

"The scoreline perhaps flattered us in the end, but what a scoreline it was!"

Exeter host the Ospreys in the next round of the cup on Saturday.
