West Brom's Chris Brunt receives threatening "bullet through your head" tweet

Brunt receives threatening "bullet" tweet

West Bromwich Albion captain Chris Brunt has reportedly been targeted by a threatening tweet claiming that the footballer deserves a "bullet" through his head.

The 29-year-old was booed by his own supporters when he was substituted in the second half of the Baggies' 2-0 defeat to Everton last Saturday.

Following the result, according to the Express & Star, Brunt received a tweet saying: "@chrisbrunt11 I don't think you deserve the boo's your getting mate, I think you deserve a bullet through your head #horrific #sougly #wba"

Officials at the club are believed to have blocked the user who sent the tweet, which has since been deleted, from their official account.

Ben Foster jumped to his teammate's defence after the game by slamming the boo-boys as "ridiculous".
