Shaun Kenny-Dowall admitted to hospital after mental health assessment

Sydney Roosters centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall is admitted to hospital after a mental health assessment following allegations of domestic violence.

New Zealand international Shaun Kenny-Dowall has been admitted to hospital after a mental health assessment following allegations of domestic violence.

The Sydney Roosters centre was due to appear at Waverley Local Court on 10 domestic violence charges against his former partner, but was admitted to hospital on Tuesday in a decision made by Roosters officials and his family.

Roosters coach Trent Robinson told Fox Sports: "I've had many chats with Shaun. It's a tough period for him at the moment. He's in a bit of a dark place.

"He's not in a good enough state to get out there and play."

The 27-year-old was stood down at the weekend after being arrested on Saturday.
