Kevin Moore dies age 55

Former Southampton defender Kevin Moore passes away at the age of 55.

Former Southampton defender Kevin Moore has passed away at the age of 55 following a long-term battle with Pick's disease.

Moore, who joined Southampton from Grimsby Town in 1987 after making 400 appearances for the club, also represented Fulham during an illustrious career.

A statement on Southampton's official website read: "Southampton Football Club is sad to learn of the passing of its former defender Kevin Moore, who died yesterday at the age of 55."

Following his retirement from professional football, Moore became a safety-officer at Fulham.
