Report: Up to 150 Russian hooligans escape arrest

Up to 150 suspected Russian hooligans reportedly escaped arrest following scenes of violence before, during and after their Euro 2016 clash with England.

Up to 150 suspected trained Russian hooligans escaped arrest following violence before, during and after their Euro 2016 match against England, according to reports.

This summer's tournament has so far been overshadowed by ugly scenes off the field, with clashes between Russian, English and French supporters in the build-up to Saturday's match in Marseille.

Further violence occurred inside the Stade Velodrome, resulting in UEFA opening up disciplinary proceedings against Russia.

However, Sky Sports News reports that as many as 150 Russian hooligans avoided arrest following the trouble, while six Britons, three Frenchmen and one Austrian were among the 20 people arrested.

Both Russia and England have been threatened with expulsion from the tournament should there be a repeat of the violence, prompting Roy Hodgson and Wayne Rooney to appeal to supporters to stay safe.
