London woman left "petrified" as rugby fans 'scrum her car'

A woman driving through South London had a group of rugby fans 'scrum' her car following England's 33-13 defeat against Australia in the Rugby World Cup.

A woman has been left "petrified" after a large group of rugby fans appeared to scrum her car as it waited at traffic lights in South London, according to her father.

Laura Louise Morris, 21, was driving through Clapham Junction in the early hours of Sunday morning, just hours after England's 33-13 defeat against Australia in the Rugby World Cup.

James Morris told the Wandsworth Guardian: "I was in a pub in Earlsfield and she was coming to pick me and my wife up when these 20 blokes attacked her car at the traffic lights.

"They came out of the Grand, where there was a big rugby event on, and tried to basically scrum her car. It damaged the front of the car and she was absolutely petrified."

The Grand nightclub had been showing matches from the Rugby World Cup, including Saturday night's game, which condemned the host nation to an early exit from their own tournament.
