Real Madrid players 'fined for attending Cristiano Ronaldo's birthday party'

A number of Real Madrid players will reportedly be fined by the club for attending Cristiano Ronaldo's 30th birthday celebrations last Saturday.

The Portugal captain hosted a party at a venue on the outskirts of Madrid, despite his side's 4-0 defeat to local rivals Atletico Madrid.

According to Cuatro, injured stars Luka Modric, James Rodriguez and Sami Khedira are in trouble with the Spanish club after they ignored medical advice and attended the birthday bash.

It has been reported that Modric may escape punishment because he delivered a personal apology to the club, but Rodriguez and Khedira are likely to be fined.
