Former Barcelona defender Eric Abidal was left red-faced after misidentifying Andy Cole as Dwight Yorke on social media.

The Frenchman was providing punditry for beIN Sports' coverage of the Champions League contest between Juventus and Real Madrid when he made the Twitter gaffe.

He was joined in the studio by fellow ex-professionals Michel Salgado, Luis Garcia, and Cole, whom he tagged as the latter's former Manchester United teammate Yorke.

Abidal has since deleted the post, but not before a number of third parties were able to screengrab and share it.
