Ole Miss AD "disappointed" with Henderson comments

Ole Miss Rebels athletic director Ross Bjork has revealed that he is "extremely disappointed" with comments made by former basketball player Marshall Henderson about Michael Sam.

Henderson tweeted alleged homophobic comments after watching Sam kiss his boyfriend live on television after becoming the first openly gay player in the NFL when he was selected by the St Louis Rams in the 2014 Draft.

Bjork wrote on Twitter: "I am extremely disappointed and we do not condone the statements made by our former bball player. We believe in respect and dignity for all.

"We use significant resources to educate our student-athletes about respect and dignity for all people and unfortunately not everyone gets it."

Henderson later claimed that he was helping a gay friend, who is a psychology student, attain information on reactions to controversial public statements.
