Menelik Watson donates wage to four-year-old with heart problem

Oakland Raiders offensive tackle Menelik Watson gives his gameday wage, totaling in the region of $37,000 to a four-year-old fan with a heart defect.

Oakland Raiders offensive tackle Menelik Watson has donated his gameday cheque to a four-year-old fan with a heart problem.

The Raiders hosted Ava Urrea and her family as part of the Touchdown Dreams programme, while she was also made the honorary captain for the day for their match against the Buffalo Bills.

Manchester-born Watson decided to also gift his pay for the week to the family, which is believed to total in the region of $37,000 (£23,600).

Ava, who has hypoplastic left heart syndrome, was born with half a heart and has had 14 surgeries during her young life.
