Olympic swimmer Ian Thorpe asked by Michael Parkinson if he is gay

Olympic swimmer Ian Thorpe faces questions about his sexuality during an interview with British journalist Michael Parkinson.

Olympic swimmer Ian Thorpe faced questions about his sexuality yet again when he sat down for an interview with British journalist Michael Parkinson.

The 31-year-old, who has five Olympic gold medals to his name, took part in the revealing interview for Network Ten, who will broadcast the piece on July 13.

In a promo clip for the interview, Parkinson poses the question: "You've always said that you're not gay - is all of that true?"

The 25-second clip then shows Thorpe looking uncomfortable as he tries to deliver an answer to the former talk show host.

Thorpe, who will commentate at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games with Network Ten, recently completed a stint in rehab following surgery on his shoulder, which left him with an infection.
