Scottish Professional Football League agrees historic TV deal in China

The Scottish Professional Football League agrees a three-year deal to broadcast matches on mainstream television in China for the first time.

The Scottish Professional Football League has agreed a deal to show live football from the region on mainstream television in China.

It is the first time that Scottish football will be broadcast in the country, which will have 55 Premiership matches to show across various platforms, including online and mobile.

According to BBC Sport, the three-year deal is worth around £500,000 and all 42 Scottish clubs will be informed of the development at a board meeting at Hampden Park today.

Australia and the United States are among the countries which already show Scottish matches.
