Victoria Pendleton to consider freezing her eggs as she puts children on hold

Former Olympic cyclist Victoria Pendleton reveals that she will consider freezing her eggs in order to have children in the future.

Former Olympic cyclist Victoria Pendleton has revealed that she will consider freezing her eggs as she has no immediate plans to have children.

The 35-year-old, who now races as an amateur jockey after retiring from cycling following the London 2012 Olympics, married Australian sports scientist Scott Gardner in 2013.

"I do see myself having children at some point, I suppose, but I keep getting involved with stuff that I enjoy doing," the Daily Mail quotes Pendleton as saying.

"Scott and I are both so ambitious with what we want to do with our lives at the moment, that kids aren't in the picture now. I haven't thought too much about freezing my eggs before, but who knows? It's quite a good idea and I wouldn't rule it out."

Pendleton recently fell while aboard Satanic Beat at Newbury in her third competitive ride, but was not injured.
