Rory McIlroy calms rumours over split with Caroline Wozniacki?

Former world number one golfer Rory McIlroy has appeared to have refuted reports that he has split up with girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki.

Rumours were rife last week that the Northern Irishman had ended his romance with the tennis star in order to focus on his golf commitments.

However, it seems that their relationship remains on track after McIlroy referred to the Dane as "my girl" in a message on Twitter congratulating Wozniacki on winning her 21st title at the Luxembourg Open.

Following the rumours, Wozniacki was quoted as saying that she is "sick" of speculation surrounding their relationship.
