Gary Lineker reportedly pays a private jet to fly his ill mother to UK from her home in Spain.

Former England international Gary Lineker has reportedly paid a private jet to fly his ill mother back to the UK.

The 52-year-old, who experienced stints at Tottenham Hotspur and Everton during his playing days, is thought to have been worried about his 73-year-old mother Margaret, who has been receiving treatment in Tarragona Hospital near Barcelona, where she lives.

"He couldn't bear to think of his mum in a foreign hospital when he can afford luxury healthcare here," said a source, according to The Sun.

Lineker recently announced that he was deleting his Twitter account for "personal reasons".
