Amir Khan marries Faryal Makhdoom in New York City

British boxer Amir Khan has married his fiancee Faryal Makhdoom in a ceremony in New York City.

The 26-year-old is believed to have walked down the aisle with his American bride in front of 400 people at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan, according to the Daily Mail.

Following the ceremony on Saturday, Faryal wrote on Twitter: "Last night was like a dream, truly amazing. Thanks to everyone that participated, really meant a lot x Now ready for the UK wedding!!"

The couple have been engaged since January 2012.
