Amir Khan: 'I want to start a family now that I'm married'

British boxer Amir Khan has revealed that he wants to start a family with his new wife Faryal Makhdoom.

The Bolton-born fighter married the 21-year-old US student in New York City last weekend, with a ceremony in the UK due to take place.

"I've lived the young life, I've done everything I've wanted to do," Khan told Hello! magazine. "Now is the right time to settle down and start my own family."

The couple announced their engagement in January 2012.
