Brain expert: 'Full Michael Schumacher recovery unlikely'

Professor of neurosurgery at Oxford University, Dr Tipu Aziz, believes that it is "improbable" that Michael Schumacher will make a full recovery.

Professor of neurosurgery Dr Tipu Aziz has said that it is "improbable" that former Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher will make a full recovery from his skiing accident.

The German has been in a medically-induced come for over two months, having sustained a serious injury after hitting his head on a rock in the Alps.

The Oxford University professor told The Express: "It does not bode well, the fact that he hasn't woken up implies that the injury has been extremely severe and that a full recovery is improbable.

"If you don't start getting any positive signs, that becomes very worrisome."

The 44-year-old won seven world titles between 1994 and 2004.
