50 Cent to bet £1m on Mayweather

American rapper 50 Cent has revealed that he intends to place a £1m bet on Floyd Mayweather Jr to beat Manny Pacquiao in a highly-anticipated showdown in Las Vegas.

The two fighters, who are widely regarded as the best boxers of their generation, will go toe to toe in the ring on May 2 after finally agreeing a deal.

According to the Daily Mail, should 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, win his bet, he will take home £1.5m.

"I got the champ," the rapper told The Breakfast Club. "The champ gonna smoke him. It's gonna look like [the fight] was pumped up for no reason."

Mayweather and 50 Cent appear to have resolved their issues from last year when the rapper challenged the sportsman to read a page of a Harry Potter book aloud after mocking his ability to read.
