Funeral for Formula 1 driver Jules Bianchi to be held in Nice on Tuesday

Bianchi to be laid to rest on Tuesday

The family of Jules Bianchi have confirmed that the Formula 1 driver's funeral will be held in his hometown of Nice on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old passed away in hospital on Saturday nine months after crashing his Marussia at the Japanese Grand Prix.

Bianchi, who became a Marussia driver in 2013, suffered severe head injuries when he collided with a recovery vehicle at Suzuka.

It appears as though the sportsman's family have opted against a private funeral as a post on Bianchi's official Twitter page read: "You can say goodbye to Jules Tuesday 21 July at 10 am at the Sainte Reparate Cathedral."

Meanwhile, former Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has revealed that Bianchi was chosen to become a future driver for the F1 giants.
