Chris Smalling's dog travels first class on train from London to Manchester

Manchester United defender Chris Smalling's girlfriend Sam Cooke allowed her pet dog to have her own seat while travelling first class on a Virgin train from London.

Dog Miley is believed to have been looked after by a friend while Cooke and Smalling went on holiday to Barbados during the footballer's summer break.

On Monday, Cooke posted a photo on Instagram of her pet being "spoilt" with a plate of sausages while sitting in her own seat in a first-class carriage from the capital to Manchester.

Alongside the picture, Cooke wrote: "One spoilt pooch! Have to give it to her though! She's made me proud in London! Been a dream. Loved the underground and the London bus'! She had a blast on her London holiday."

Smalling is currently in the United States with his teammates on a pre-season tour.
