Samsung sign up Wayne Rooney for 'Galaxy 11' team to stop alien invasion

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney joins Samsung's 'Galaxy 11' team in a bid to stop an alien invasion.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has become the latest footballer to join Samsung's 'Galaxy 11' team.

The England international has joined the campaign, which includes a star-studded team that will try to prevent an alien invasion by playing them in a football match.

According to Marketing Week, Rooney has been signed up by the conglomerate, alongside Barcelona star Lionel Messi, Bayern Munich's Mario Gotze and Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

The campaign is said to come to a close with the "epic showdown" later this month.
