Marcos Rojo 'to escape punishment over Pablo Escobar Instagram post'

Rojo 'to escape punishment over Escobar post'

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo will reportedly not be punished by the Football Association for posting an image of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar to one of his social media accounts.

Rojo sparked controversy by uploading the image this week, and the reaction appears to have caused the Argentine to remove the post from his Instagram page.

According to the Daily Mail, the FA is expected to issue the defender with a warning and remind him of his responsibilities, but will not put forward any punishment.

The English governing body has taken a firmer stance on what footballers post on social media in recent months.
