Man Utd express condolences to Neville brothers

Manchester United have expressed sympathy towards Phil and Gary Neville following the death of their father.

Neville Neville passed away this morning in a Sydney hospital at the age of 65.

The retired footballers' father is reported to have suffered a heart attack after flying Down Under to support his daughter Tracey Neville as she coaches the England netball team at the World Cup.

The Neville brothers, who spent a combined 29 years playing for United, were believed to be at their father's bedside when he passed away.

On United's official Twitter page, a statement read: "We are sad to learn that Neville Neville, father of Gary and Phil, has passed away. Our condolences go out to his family."

Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler tweeted his "deepest sympathies" to the Neville family, while ex-United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel expressed his condolences over their 'sad loss'.
