Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs has surprised Countdown star Rachel Riley with a bunch of flowers to mark her 1,000 appearance on the Channel 4 show.
The former Wales international arrived on the set of the daytime programme to present Riley, who is a lifelong United fan, with flowers and a signed shirt from the midfielder.
"I thought they might have got me a bunch of flowers," The Mirror quotes Riley as saying. "But I nearly fell through the floor when Ryan Giggs suddenly appeared with some."
Giggs's appearance on Countdown will be aired tomorrow.
