Soon-to-be-retired Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson reveals that he has a "weakness" for chocolate biscuits.

Retiring Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that he has a "weakness" for chocolate biscuits.

The Scotsman, who has decided to step down from his role after 26 years in charge at Old Trafford, has revealed that he spent time learning how to cook in a professional kitchen.

"Biscuits are my weakness," the Daily Mail quotes Ferguson as saying. "Caramel wafers, Kit Kats and Jaffa Cakes. I try to be sensible.

"I worked in a kitchen for a year and a half. I had got a site in Paisley to build a restaurant, I was manager of St Mirren at the time. I said if I'm going to have a restaurant I need to know about the kitchen side of it. It was called the Beechwood. I was into cooking a great deal then. I can do pastas, good Chinese."

Meanwhile, new manager David Moyes will take the reins at Old Trafford from July 1.
