Manchester United defender Jonny Evans marries MUTV presenter

Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has kicked off his summer break by marrying partner Helen McConnell.

The 25-year-old walked down the aisle on Saturday with McConnell, who met Evans when she interviewed him for United's official television channel MUTV back in 2011.

The couple, who are both from Belfast in Northern Ireland, said their vows in a ceremony at Clough Presbyterian Church in County Down.

Small groups of United fans were spotted showing their support for the union with banners on the day of the wedding.
