Lancashire cricketer injured in bar fight

Kent Police have launched an investigation after Lancashire batsman Liam Livingstone was hit in the face with a glass in a bar in Ashford.

The 22-year-old was one of a number of the county side's players celebrating at the The Auction House Bar on Saturday night after Lancashire Lightning beat Kent Spitfires in a T20 Blast quarter-final.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Livingstone accidentally knocked into a man stood nearby, but was struck by a glass before he could apologise, leaving him with blood pouring from his head.

It is reported that a number of his teammates got involved, with punches and glasses being thrown before security staff removed those responsible, and police and medics were called to the scene.

England wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, Australian all-rounder James Faulkner and Lancashire coach Ashley Giles are among those who were also at the bar, according to eyewitnesses.

The club has said that it is aware of the incident and will not be commenting further while the investigation is ongoing.
